The Easy Way to Print Envelopes in MS Word - Orlando Microsoft Office Tuiton | Print |  E-mail
If you're anything like me you'll have tried to print envelopes in the past and given up in frustration - piles of torn envelopes, misaligned text, streaks of ink and worse.

Thankfully, Microsoft Word includes an easy envelope printing wizard which makes it a breeze to print any standard envelope.
To access this feature, you need to open Word and load or type the letter which you want to create an envelope for (use a blank document if you already have the letter written out).

Then, click the Tools menu, go to "Letters and Mailings" and select "Envelopes and Labels".

This opens up the Envelopes and Labels wizard, where you can type in a Delivery Address and an optional return address. If you have the right software you can even print electronic postage right onto the envelope so you don't need a stamp.

Next, pay careful attention to the "Feed" image at the bottom left of the "Envelopes and Labels" box, this shows you how you need to position the envelope in your printer's paper tray to get it to print correctly. Make sure you push the envelope all the way forward until the printer rollers are able to grip the envelope.

Click "Options" if you want to change where you want to put the envelope in your printer (some printers default to centre positioning which is hard to guess, always try and set it up so you have the envelope face down and at the left or right hand side of the paper tray).

You also need to check that the right envelope size is selected under the "Envelope Options" tab on the "Options" dialog box. This size is usually written on the box your envelopes came in, or you can measure it with a ruler.

Now press "Print" and watch as your perfect professional envelope is delivered from your printer.

You can also configure the "Envelopes and Labels" tool to print multiple envelopes for mail merging from a database or Excel spreadsheet, attach Electronic Postage for USPS, Fedex or UPS delivery or to print large or decorative envelopes by using various options under the "Options" panel.
