Orlando Data Recovery – What NOT to do if you ever want to see your files again |

It might be a lightning strike, human error, broken hard disk drives or badly written software, espionage, disgruntled employees or just deleting the wrong file at 3am after an all night work session, but your data is gone. Everything you’ve spent hours on disappeared in a puff of smoke. The good news is that in most cases this data can be recovered. Just be very careful when choosing your next move...
Data on a hard disk is stored in two places – the data itself and an index which tells the hard disk where to find that data, kind of like looking up a phone number in the telephone directory. When you delete a file, it just erases the entry from the index – your data is still there, just the hard disk doesn’t remember where it is.
The bad news is that whenever you write data to the hard disk you run the risk of the disk writing new data over the space it now thinks is empty – and files are overwritten in the order they’ve been deleted, so the last files you erased will be the first to be permanently destroyed.
DO NOT run the drive any more (or storage card, or MP3 player) DO NOT try and poke around online trying to find a solution (other than this one, obviously) – your Internet browser may write cookies or cache data to the disk which will overwrite precious lost data fragments. DO NOT install or run any programs on the drive you hope to recover data from DO NOT use tools built into the computer such as scandisk or fdisk to try to recover the data, they may overwrite the files you’re trying to get back
DO only access the drive again from a healthy PC with specialist data recovery software installed on another drive DO, on realising you have lost vital data, immediately shut the device down even if it means ripping the plug from the wall. That is, after you write down our phone number from above!
If you need further help We can recover your accidental deletions of files, formatted disk drives, corrupt or damaged file tables, missing partitions, the “blue screen of death”, "OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND" errors, continuous reboots and inaccessible or unbootable hard disk drives.
We offer a specialist Orlando data recovery service and our experts can use data recovery software to rebuild and retrieve partial or full data from most hard drives, compact flash memory, SD cards and other storage cards. Even forensic data recovery from laptops, iPods and even server RAID arrays.
In some cases we can rebuild partial files from fragments left on the hard disk, including Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PDF documents and Quickbooks data files. We can even recover data from scratched DVDs, unreadable CD ROMs or old magnetic backup tapes or floppy disks!
In the event that the drive is more severely damaged we can refer the drive to a partner company who have a clean-room on-site and can use hardware techniques normally reserved for the FBI to recover data from a hard disk drive which has been almost totally destroyed by flood damage, lightning, power surges, makes grinding, screeching or buzzing noises or is just plain totally unrecognised by any computer.
Some companies charge up to $5,000 for a basic data recovery job, quite a lot for a Haines City business! Our rates are a lot more reasonable. As each data recovery task is unique we will offer you a free initial consultation to discuss your needs – in most cases we can set an appointment and recover your data within 24 hours so you can continue doing what you do best.
